Dr. Andrew is a big fan of cats, crystals, coffee and anything creative, especially the visual and performance arts. An avid traveler, Andrew loves to learn about people and culture through immersive stays abroad, from riding the TranSiberian railway across Russia to open water diving in northeastern Brazil. Currently, Andrew translates quarterly case studies and current research in acupuncture and moxibustion from Japanese-English for the North American Journal of Oriental Medicine (NAJOM). He leads yearly acupuncture study groups with senior acupuncturists and researchers in the Tokyo area. Please see the retreats page for more information on upcoming Acu Abroad seminars!

Dr. Andrew's passion for deep healing in healthcare was born out of a love for languages. A graduate of the University of Michigan, he studied Linguistics and specialized in East Asian and Western European languages, notably Japanese, Korean, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Hebrew. Living abroad as an English teacher, he uncovered a dormant capacity for heartfelt listening while engaging his students in sincere conversation. Since then, he has developed many intuitive and scientific tools for hearing the issues in his patients' tissues.
